Destin Diner has been fully revived by Oliver Petit of The Red Bar and is now open in the heart of Destin, Florida. Petit labored for many months to create a sparkling gem of a restaurant that sparkles inside and out. The old diner had been abandoned and was in rough shape. Petit and crew carried out a complete renovation of the silver diner building, decorating with his unique style, and creating the perfect diner menu.
The mission of the new Destin Diner, like that of the Petit’s other highly successful restaurants, emphasizes atmosphere, originality, comfort, and back it up with great food. The diner serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails and a late dinner.
Visitors can sit at the bar or one of the cozy tables or booths with eclectic electic decor. Red velvet wallpaper, an array of posters and funky art, tiled floors and wood trim, and accessories from around the world come together for a one-of-a-kind experience. Each time you go you’ll see something new.
The cozy bar area is staffed by experienced mixologists tasked to create and serve classic cocktails and craft new signature drinks for the restaurant. A popular spot any time of day and night, the bar is the often the spot for locals for Sunday brunch or late night visits with friends.
The diner is a bit seasonal so check back for hours of operation. In season, we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner – items on the menu include omelets, homemade biscuits, hash browns, eggs benedict, Belgian waffles, grits, lox and bagels, burgers, shimp po’boy, paneed chicken, pork loin, crab cakes, manicotti, “crazy salads” and desserts such as key lime pie, bread pudding, milk shakes and more. Local customers will recognize many of these dishes, and that’s on purpose.
